a strange crush

I have a crush on a character from a video game.  I LOVE HIM.  His name is Professor Layton.  There have been three Professor Layton games so far and I love him more with each one.  I have the British versions of the last two, but I think only the names are different.

Is this odd behavior?

I mean he's composed, intelligent and he wears a top hat.  He solves puzzles.  He's obsessed with being a gentleman with the ladies.  I mean...come on!  AND...he has a nice accent.

There's even a character in there named Paige.  She's a total nerd (shocking) and she's obsessed with organization and study.  Remind you of anyone??

Could that BE more me?  No, no it couldn't.  I'm in the game.  Literally.

If you like puzzles and you have a Nintendo DS, I recommend this game.  It is so much fun.  The Bear and I have played the last two games together and it's one of our favorite downtime activities.  Be warned, though, it's totally addictive.

I CANNOT wait for the next one.  They can't make it fast enough.

Have any of you played this game?  Am I the only adult who plays Nintendo DS games?

I don't think it's odd behavior at all. But only cuz he's a Brit with a top hat. That makes it totally ok.

Don't worry, my mom has a DS too. I'm not sure if that's a comfort or not, but it's what I got.

I have seen this game and thought about getting it for the kids...maybe I will get it for me!

Best wishes,
Natasha.

Oh, I'm with you there! The Professor Layton series is so much fun to play that as soon as one comes out in the US, I import it immediately. It's one of the few games I don't mind spending all my free/sleeping time to play because it's just too fun to put down!

Of course, if I buy them in Japanese, I would be one game ahead of everyone else but the puzzles and everything is in Japanese and it would take ages for me to complete the game. Plus, he wouldn't sound the same in Japanase :)

By the way, I'm so jealous of your pink DS. I have a turquoise one. If only I had waited a few months back then, I would have gotten a pink one too...

I have nieces hooked on the DS and a son on PSP. And quite a few adult friends on Wii. Me? Never did get the hang of any games, so I'm safe ;-P

I used to play simulation games on my PC, but I tend to spend my time chatting and blogging now. I can see the attraction though.

Haha, there is nothing wrong with your behavior. Rather it's pretty cool behavior in Japan:)
I haven't played with this game and did not know your love, either. Will check it out:)

How cute! I really want a DS, but I know if I got one I probably wouldn't play it as much as I think I would.

So cute! I've never played with the DS, though I was thinking about getting it for my brother. But I am obsessed with tetris on my my new iTouch!

Paige, I have purposely stayed away from video games because I know I would become hooked, and never get anything else done! This is no joke! It's kind of like playing the slots, which I also stay away from, even though I rarely lose when I do play them.

I've never played this particular game, but was obsessed with Cookin Mama's Cookoff for awhile.

Your crush is not odd at all. We went to the rodeo this weekend and I was crushing on all the cowboys. So NOT me...but it was that particular day!

1st time poster through Los:

I have a crush on Princess Peach. I spend more time trying to get with her than my own wife these days...

I shouldn't be surprised that you have a DS. But I am.

Who could resist a man in a top hat?!
Besides, with you being "in" the video game, it's kinda like you guys were meant to be together.

I have a Wii, but no DS ... I feel like I'm missing something!

You crack me up every time I visit your site. I was addicted to the game tetrus and spent waaaaay too much time on the computer playing it. But this does look like fun....hmmmmmm.

Well, you forgot one key thing about these games: you have to be smart and logical! Which I am not. Hence I was a dismal failure in my first dalliance with the Professor.

(And I'm a video game junkie. I love the Nintendo DS, the PS3, the Wii. I'm sick, actually. My favorite are the Lego games.)
