blue

I want to participate in Alphabe-Thursday today because I haven't been able to in weeks. Frankly - I miss it.  Since I'm not prepared for this week as much as usual, I'm just going to wing it.

When I think of blue, my first thought is that my two favorite people in the world have blue eyes.  (My other favorite person in the world has green eyes with brown specs.  Sorry daddy - green was last week.) One of my mom's eyes is kind of green so we've always joked that when someone compliments my eye color I always say it came from my mom's blue eye.  It's amazing how many people out there now think my mom only has one eye.

I also think of that song Blue Christmas that Elvis sang where the backup singers did that wooo-ooo-oo-oo-oo thing on the word blue.  Do you remember that?  There was a girl I went to high school with who thought that was so funny. She's the one who ate ground coffee dry, right out of the tin.

When I feel blue, the Bear often buys me flowers because he's the BEST BEAR EVER.  Stargazer lilies are my favorite, sans the messy orange bits.  Orange was several weeks ago - maybe I'm making up for lost weeks with a rainbow.

I also think of this teething ring when I think of blue.  It belonged to Phoenix but she didn't like it so Laura inherited it as a hand-me-down.  I don't think she likes it much either.  Maybe it's because she's not using it right.

Yes, I'm a terrible mommy.  Look away.

I'm also blue that I've not thought of a reason for Steve the electrician to come back yet.  Mmmm....Steve the electrician....

What? Where am I?  Oh.

Okay, so that's all I've got for blue.  I'm sure I'll think of an awe-inspiring blue post tomorrow.  This will just have to do for now.

I think this is a perfectly good blue post :) It's so YOU!

Those blue eyes are stunning. I wish I could have blue eyes...but then I'd be the freak Chinese girl with blue eyes...and I don't like to be called freaky...

Laura is becoming cuter every time you put up pictures of her. I love her shiny fur. I wish my hair could be that nice and shiny too.

Too bad you couldn't sneak a photo of Steve the electrician. I'm really curious as to how incredibly delicious he must be.

I always loved blue eyes. When I was young, I wanted to buy those contact lenses that changed your eye color. Lucky.

I love star-gazer lilies, too, but I'm a little allergic to them.

I request a photo of Steve the electrician juxtaposed with one of your piano teacher.
Possible?

I'm Laura's much cuter than Steve the electrician. Keep him in your dreams if you have to but save your l-o-v-e for Phoenix and Laura! Have a blessed weekend...

I just have to ask if Phoenix is jealous of Laura, who is getting an awful awful lot of blog time!

That picture of Laura is so sweet. She is obviously a very good natured dog, but I suspect the teething ring wouldn't last 5 minutes used the right way!

Paige, so nice to see you linked here.

That is the cutest picture of Laura.

And I am still chuckling over your Mom having one eye.

Do you know you can take your scissors and cut the orange stamens of your lilies over the sink. It makes a lot less mess and they don't end up staining clothes or linens. You probably already know that.

Thank you for linking to Rainbow Summer School this week.

We're all really glad to see you back!

A+
