I haven't posted pictures of flowers in AGES. I'm about to remedy that. These were taken with my least favorite camera so the quality isn't the best but who cares, right? Not me! Except maybe a little. *grunt*
This is some kind of Andean orchid.
One of the guys on the trip said they remind him of angels or dancing ladies in ball gowns. I agree.
Speaking of dancing ladies (and shoes - because we were all thinking of shoes when I said dancing, right?), here are the biggest lady slippers I've ever seen. I wish I had a perspective shot but I didn't think of that at the time. Trust me, they were really big. Like a size 12.
And that concludes my Y post for Alphabe-Thursday!
(Getting better at shorter posts!)

great shot..it is such a pretty flower..
Lovely flower photos :) I've never really noticed the flowers looking like angels or dancing ladies but now that you mentioned it...they do look a little bit like that...
Did you know that people also photograph orchids to use them as sexual symbolism? Totally random fact, I know.
they look like chickens in the last photo, if you say it, I wouldn't know what these flowers are call
lots of yellow posts for alphabe-thursday including my own but I like them
Oh! I love the imagination these inspire with the angels and shoes. Lovely!

PS Mine this week is HERE. Hope you can join me!
Beautiful!
Gorgeous! I've never seen such large lady slippers-I'm just comparing them to the leaves behind them for an idea. I love shots of flowers, shows us the incredible beauty in the small details we often miss with just a glance. Thanks for sharing!
Incredibly beautiful orchids and lady's slippers!!
I love those contrast colors...red and yellow! Those are great flowers. I never loved flowers until I started to grow some in my yard this year. They just make me so happy!!

Great shots Paige! Call me crazy, but I have always thought they looked like Southern Belles with a frilly parasol above their head or dancing gypsies with scarves. Love the large Lady Slippers.
